DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't overcome a two-goal deficit and succumbed to Carroll University 2-1 in a non-conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights trailed just 1-0 at halftime despite being outshot 12-1 in the first half. Carroll's Marti Solanellas converted a penalty kick at 20:04 for the first half's only marker.
The Pioneers added to their lead when Zane Walters' crosser was true at 47:12. St. Norbert had solid pressure the last 35 minutes of the game, getting a goal back when
Joe Meade's perfectly placed strike to the upper right corner was good for his fifth goal of the year at 60:47.
The Green Knights had a couple of good scoring chances in the last 10 minutes but couldn't net the equalizer.
Carroll outshot St. Norbert 17-9 and also had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. The game had 33 fouls, with Carroll netting 21.
