St. Norbert Swept at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College was swept by Benedictine University by scores of 15-5 and 12-1 in a pair of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference games at the Benedictine University Sports Complex.

The Green Knights took a 1-0 lead with a run in the fourth inning, scoring on an RBI single by Adam Denniston. Benedictine answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning for a 5-1 lead. St. Norbert scored a run in the fifth on a Tommy Sheehan sacrifice fly. Benedictine scored again in the bottom of the inning with a single run.

St. Norbert scored in the sixth when Trevor Reinhardt walked with the bases loaded to cut it to 6-3. The Eagles scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning. St. Norbert got two runs in the eighth on a two-run single by Sebastien Dubois. Benedictine put the game away with a seven-run eighth inning.

Dubois was 3-for-3, while Carson Krumrei was 2-for-4 for the Green Knights, who had eight hits. Jace Midbon took the loss for the Green Knights.

In the nightcap, St. Norbert fell behind 8-0 after two innings. The Green Knights got their only run on a solo home run in the third by Eric Kramer.

St. Norbert finished with five hits. Jason Schroeder took the loss.
