AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College gained a doubleheader split with Cornell College thanks to
Trevor Reinhardt's walk-off three-run home run in the nightcap, with the Green Knights winning 5-3 after dropping the nightcap 5-0.
St. Norbert entered the bottom of the seventh trailing 3-1.
Devin Geary got the rally started with a one-out double, and
Jaden Holgado followed with a single to make it 3-2.
Caden Uhlenbrauck followed with a bunt single to put runners at first and second.
Sebastien Dubois' grounder to the hole at shortstop was good for just one out, putting runners at the corners for Reinhardt. Reinhardt then rode out his second home run of the season to give the Green Knights a thrilling victory.
Each team scored one run in the second inning, with
Eric Kramer's RBI groundout tying the score at 1-1. The Rams scored twice in the the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Holgado was 3-for-4 for the Green Knights, who had 10 hits. Reinhardt was 2-for-4.
Jace Midbon earned a complete-game win, allowing just four hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
In the opener St. Norbert couldn't solve Cornell ace Kole Hinrichsen, who held the Green Knights to one hit.
Noah Lindsley took the complete-game loss, allowing 10 hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
