St. Norbert built a pair of four-point leads early, leading 7-3 and 9-5. The Firebirds answered with a 10-0 run to take a 15-9 lead, but the Green Knights got the last three points of the quarter on a Macey Mercer basket and a Chloe Gruszynski free throw.

The Green Knights trailed 17-14 after an Emma Morrisey layup with 7:49 left in the second quarter, but St. Norbert went stone cold the rest of the period as Carthage went on a 14-0 run to take a 31-14 halftime lead.

St. Norbert eventually fell behind by 19 points twice, the latter at 37-18 with 7:35 left in the third quarter, before charging back.
