DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't slow down the No. 2-ranked team in the D3hoops.com Top 25, falling 88-66 to Calvin University in a non-conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
Calvin shot 56 percent (28-for-50) from the floor and 42.9 percent (12-for-28) from beyond the three-point line as all five of its starters reached double figures in scoring.
St. Norbert never led and had just one tie at 6-6 in the early going. The Green Knights trailed 14-10 with 12:17 left in the first half after an
Evan Glaser basket, but the Knights went on a 13-5 run to take a 27-15 lead at the 8:45 mark. St. Norbert would get back to within four at 29-25 after a pair of Glaser free throws at the 4:54 mark, but a late 9-2 Calvin run to end the half gave the visitor a 44-31 halftime edge.
The Green Knights never got closer than 11 points in the second half.
St. Norbert shot 39.2 percent (20-for-51) from the floor and 3-for-15 (20 percent) from beyond the arc. Glaser posted a career-high 26 points, while
Jamison Nickolai added 12 points.
Calvin's All-America center Jalen Overway led the Knights with 26 points, while Marcus Bult added 12 points.
