LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College scored two goals in all three periods to fashion a 6-0 rout of Lake Forest College to sweep a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights (3-1, 2-0 NCHA) scored a pair of goals late in the first period to jump ahead.
Morgan Olson registered a power-play goal at 16:49, and
Gabby Holtz followed with an even-strength tally at 17:40.
St. Norbert didn't wait as long in the second period to score, with
Kelsey Ross potting her third goal of the season just 57 seconds into the stanza.
Jo Mahlum then added an unassisted marker just 31 seconds later for a 4-0 advantage.
The Green Knights got an empty-net goal at 3:39 of the third period on a score by
Grace Wittkopf.
Courtnie Hogan closed out the scoring at 9:59 when she registered her fifth goal of the season.
Olson, Mahlum, Hogan and Ross all scored one goal and one assist for two points to register multi-point games.
St. Norbert outshot Lake Forest 36-31.
Brynn Waisman turned away all 31 shots to gain the shutout.
The Green Knights were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Foresters were 0-for-4.
