ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Norbert College picked up a split of a two-game non-conference series with Hamline University when it fashioned a 5-2 win at TRIA Rink.
The Green Knights, who dropped their series and season opener to the Pipers 5-0 on Friday, jumped out to a 1-0 lead when
Courtnie Hogan scored at the 11:56 mark of the first period.
Morgan Olson scored at 3:49 of the second period to give St. Norbert a 2-0 lead, but Hamline's Jaime Hort scored at 8:26 to cut into the deficit. Hogan put the Green Knights back in front by two when she scored at 17:58 of the second period. St. Norbert carried its 3-1 lead into second intermission.
Hogan finished off the Pipers with two unassisted third-period goals, scoring at 16:40 and an empty-netter at 18:24. Hogan's four goals tied a St. Norbert record for most goals in a game.
Jo Mahlum had two assists for the other multi-point game for the Green Knights.
Hamline outshot St. Norbert 44-21, but
Brynn Waisman turned away 42 shots for the Green Knights. Olivia Rinzel made 16 stops for the Pipers.
Each team was 0-for-1 on the power play.
