BLAINE, Minn. - St. Norbert College dropped a 2-1 decision to Bethel University in a non-conference game at National Hockey Center.
The Green Knights fell behind just 2:27 into the game when the Royals' Dane Stoyanoff scored. St. Norbert responded moments later when
Carter Hottmann posted a power-play goal at 3:48, scoring off
Liam Fraser and
Adam Stacho assists.
St. Norbert had a major power-play opportunity cut short late in the first period and ended up not scoring. The Royals would pull ahead with a power-play goal of their own, scoring at 13:53 of the second period on a score by Joe Westlund.
St. Norbert had 1:10 of extra-attacker time late in the game but did not score.
The Green Knights outshot the Royals 31-24.
Hunter Garvey made 22 saves for St. Norbert in his first college game. Austin Ryman made 30 saves for Bethel.
St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Bethel was 1-for-2.
