Green Knights Outlast Wisconsin Lutheran

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College rebounded from a first-set loss and went on to claim a 3-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Time of Grace Center.

The Green Knights (12-10, 5-2 NACC), who extended their winning streak to six, topped the Warriors 25-27, 25-22, 25-17, 25-13.

Set 1 featured 13 ties and seven lead changes. The Green Knights led the opening stanza 20-16 before a 6-0 Wisconsin Lutheran run put the Warriors ahead 22-20. St. Norbert responded with three-straight points for a 23-22 lead and eventually reached set points at 24-23 and 25-24, but the Warriors scored the final three points to take a 1-0 lead.

The second set was also closely contested, with Wisconsin Lutheran taking a lead of 16-12. The Warriors led 18-16 before the Green Knights scored six consecutive points behind a pair of Erin Eggers service aces for a 22-18 lead. The lead got down to 24-22 but a Wisconsin Lutheran service error tied the match at 1-1.

St. Norbert roared out to a 7-1 lead in Set 3 and was never threatened in taking a 2-1 lead. The Green Knights never trailed in Set 4, eventually building a lead of 15-6 to cruise to the match victory.

The Green Knights hit .171 for the match, terminating 47 kills and 23 errors in 140 attempts. Alyssa Mills had 15 kills and Brooke Clement added 11 kills. Ellie Hartson had 21 assists and Heidi Colburn 14. Erin Eggers had four service aces and Rylie Gregg added three.

Clement finished with 23 digs and Eggers added 22. Alli Clark finished with four blocks and Colburn chipped in with three.

Wisconsin Lutheran hit .033, with 34 kills and 29 errors in 152 attempts. Shannon Rusch had a team-high nine kills.
