DE PERE - St. Norbert College battled nationally ranked UW-Eau Claire for the second-straight game but settled with a series split with a 4-2 loss in a non-conference game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (10-3-2), who won Friday's series opener 2-1, were tied 2-2 early in the third period before ninth-ranked Eau Claire (11-3) pulled away.
Natalie Hogan scored at 3:44 of the third period to bring St. Norbert even 2-2. Eau Claire didn't wait long to respond with Hallie Sheridan scoring just 40 seconds later to put the Blugolds back out front. St. Norbert had an empty power-play opportunity midway through the third period, and Eau Claire salted way the win with an empty-net goal from Sheridan with 34 seconds left.
St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead after the first period when Hogan's marker at 6:43 put the Green Knights ahead. Eau Claire would tie the game with a power-play goal at 14:53 of the second period by Sophie Rausch.
Rausch put Eau Claire ahead 2-1 with a goal at 1:54 of the third period.
Morgan Olson had two assists to join Hogan with a two-point game.
Eau Claire outshot St. Norbert 29-12.
Brynn Waisman made 25 saves for the Green Knights, while Stephanie Martin made 10 stops for the Blugolds.
St. Norbert was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Eau Claire was 1-for-2.
