MENOMONIE - St. Norbert College returned to the pitch after a week-long hiatus and dropped a 3-1 decision to UW-Stout in a non-conference match at Nelson Field.
Stout got on the board early when the Blue Devils' Liv Winkler scored at the 9:21 mark. St. Norbert would tie the match going into halftime when
Mallory Names scored off an
Amelia Carlson assist at 39:06.
The match stayed level at 1-1 until Stout's Caylee Boone scored at 69:01 to break the tie. The Blue Devils picked up an insurance goal at 75:15 on a marker by Marissa Steele.
Stout outshot St. Norbert 15-10 and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Lilly Collins made four saves for St. Norbert.
Abby Thompson had five shots for the Green Knights, while Names and
Haley Leadingham had two apiece.
Julia McNamar made four saves for Stout.
