AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College pushed across a run in the seventh inning and held on for a 4-3 win over Greenville University.
The Green Knights snapped a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh inning when
Sebastien Dubois led off the frame with a single and was sacrificed to second by
Caden Uhlenbrauck. After a flyout,
Trevor Cornell's single to center plated Dubois with the go-ahead run.
Greenville would get two runners on in the seventh, two on in the eighth and one on in the ninth, but the Green Knights got out of each inning unscathed.
Greenville scored once in the bottom of the third inning and the Green Knights answered when
Nick Volz scored on a wild pitch with two outs to tie the game 1-1. Uhlenbrauck added a two-run single in the fifth inning to put St. Norbert ahead 3-1, but Greenville answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to retie the game at 3-3.
Luke Steebs earned his first collegiate win, going seven innings and allowing just five hits and two earned runs with one walk and three strikeouts.
Noah Lindsley recorded the save with two innings of one-hit relief.
Eric Kramer was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Uhlenbrauck was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and Dubois was 2-for-5. The Green Knights registered eight hits.
