WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - St. Norbert College junior outfielder Grady Brick's first collegiate hit was a big one, with his eighth-inning grand slam leading the Green Knights to a spicy 4-1 win over Curry College at Chain of Lakes Park.

The Green Knights trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. The first two St. Norbert hitters of the frame were retired, with Adam Cootway singling to give the Green Knights a baserunner. Caden Uhlenbrauck and Trevor Cornell followed with walks. Curry then made a pitching change and Brick hammered an offering from Brandon Prescod out to left field for a 4-1 lead.

Sam O'Leary then set down Curry in order in the ninth inning to lock down the win. O'Leary earned his first collegiate win with 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief with one strikeout. Trevor Reinhardt went 6 1/3 innings and allowed six hits, one run, two walks and two strikeouts.

Curry got its only run on an RBI groundout in the top of the fifth inning. St. Norbert's defense turned three double plays to help keep the Colonels from scoring again, coming in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.

St. Norbert finished with seven hits, with Uhlenbrauck going 2-for-3 with a double.

The Green Knights will have a day off in Florida before returning to the diamond on Thursday, March 17 with a doubleheader against DIckinson College.
