Hogan's Heroics Saves St. Norbert Against Trine

DE PERE - St. Norbert College freshman forward Natalie Hogan registered her first career hat trick, with the final goal being the game-winning score with 1:22 remaining as the Green Knights claimed a 5-4 win over Trine University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (15-6, 9-3) saw a 4-1 lead after two periods disappear in the third period, with Trine's Brandi Wilson scoring on a shorthanded breakaway with 1:51 remaining to tie the game 4-4. St. Norbert remained on the power play, with Hogan taking a feed from Kelsey Ross and puffed the net in the upper right corner to push the Green Knights back ahead 5-4. Trine would get just 10 seconds of extra-attacker time and St. Norbert held on for the win.

St. Norbert jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period, with Hogan scoring at 6:03 and 17:11 of the period, while Jordan Moore scored just 21 seconds after Hogan's first marker.

Trine cut into the deficit with a Natasha Strbiak goal at 14:37 of the second period, but Moore scored again at 16:39 - her seventh goal of the season - to give St. Norbert a 4-1 lead.

The Thunder scored just 12 seconds into the third period on a Wilson goal, and Theresa DiMaggio scored at 15:27 to bring Trine to within 4-3.

In addition to Hogan and Moore's multi-goal games, Courtnie Hogan had two assists for a multi-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 29-24. Brynn Waisman made 13 saves in the first 40 minutes, while Evi Johnson stopped seven shots in the third period. Ryleigh Furlong made 24 saves for Trine.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-3.
