ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College wrapped up its regular season with a 3-2 overtime loss to Adrian College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Green Knights (17-8, 11-5), who tied a record for regular-season wins and had all five NCHA losses come by one goal, will host Trine University on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 25-26 in a NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs Quarterfinal Series at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
Adrian (18-6-1, 15-1) claimed the win when Kaleigh Cadorette scored 26 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime period.
Following a scoreless first period,
Abbie Tollefson scored her second goal of the season to give St. Norbert a 1-0 lead at 10:52 of the second period. The Bulldogs tied it up at 1-1 when Maya Roy scored just six seconds before the end of the second period.
Hannah Hickman put St. Norbert ahead with her third goal of the season, scoring at 5:28 of the third period. The Bulldogs would tie the game at 2-2 when Cadorette scored a power-play marker at 10:21.
Maddux Federici and
Kelsey Ross both finished with two assists for St. Norbert.
Adrian outshot St. Norbert 34-22.
Brynn Waisman made 31 saves for the Green Knights, while Denisa Jandova made 20 saves for the Bulldogs.
St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, while Adrian was 1-for-3.
