DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't get an extra-attacker goal after a late goal by Aurora University and dropped a 2-1 game in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
Aurora's Marisa Trevino scored with 3:10 remaining for the eventual game-winning goal for the Sparants. St. Norbert got break when Aurora committed a hooking penalty with 1:08 left. Following a timeout, St. Norbert had a couple decent scoring chances with the extra attacker but couldn't get the equalizer.
Following a scoreless first period that saw St. Norbert come up empty on two power-play chances, Aurora took a 1-0 lead when Rachel Campoli scored a power-play goal at the 2:07 mark of the second period. That goal would hold up into second intermission.
St. Norbert tied the game at 1-1 just 3 minutes into the third period when
Morgan Olson scored her 19th goal of the season off a
Courtnie Hogan assist.
The Green Knights outshot Aurora 29-26.
Brynn Waisman made 24 saves for St. Norbert, while Chiara Pfosi made 28 stops for the Spartans.
St. Norbert was 0-for-5 on the power play, while Aurora was 1-for-4.
