WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College struggled from the floor and dropped a 71-43 non-conference decision to Carroll University at Van Male Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights (8-3) connected on just 14 of 50 field-goal attempts to shoot 28 percent from the floor.
St. Norbert held an 8-5 lead in the first quarter after a
Casey Jepson basket with 4:17 left in the period, but the Pioneers closed the stanza on a 10-1 run to take a 15-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes. Carroll kept the scoring going in the second quarter, opening up a lead of 18 points before settling on a 35-23 lead at halftime.
The Green Knights would not get closer than their halftime deficit in the second half.
Kaycee Gierczak led the Green Knights with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Carroll shot 44.4 percent (28-for-63) from the floor. Brooke Foster led the Pioneers with 19 points.
