DE PERE - St. Norbert College extended is school record streak of consecutive shutouts to five with an impressive 3-0 win over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (8-1-2, 5-0 NCHA) extended their consecutive scoreless sequence to 326 minutes 59 seconds in handing the Falcons (6-2-1, 4-1) their first conference loss.
St. Norbert got the early jump when
Natalie Hogan scored on a backhand on a 2-on-1 rush after a Concordia turnover just 28 seconds into the game. That goal would hold up until late in the second period, when
Eve Parker buried a rebound at 16:57 of the second period off assists from
Lexi Bonfe and
Jordan Moore for a 2-0 lead.
The Green Knights would get their final goal when Hogan scored an empty-net goal off a
Courtnie Hogan assist at 19:23 of the third period.
St. Norbert would outshoot Concordia by a commanding 54-11 margin.
Brynn Waisman made 11 saves to earn the shutout for the Green Knights. Annalina Van Hercke made 51 stops for the Falcons.
St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play. Concordia did not have a power-play opportunity as the Green Knights were not whistled for an infraction. It marked the third time in school history the Green Knights had a penalty-free game.
