DE PERE - St. Norbert College set a school record with its fourth-consecutive shutout with a convincing 5-0 victory over UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (7-1-2) surpassed their old mark of three-straight shutouts, set on Oct. 30-Nov. 6, 2021. St. Norbert has outscored its opponents 53-13 through 10 games this season.
St. Norbert struck in quick succession to get a 2-0 first-period lead against the Pointers.
Jordan Moore picked up an unassisted goal at 15:11, and
Sydney Luttrell added a marker just 38 seconds later.
Those goals would hold up through the second period where the Pointers outshot the Green Knights 13-11. St. Norbert, which dominated the third period behind a 17-6 shots advantage, added an insurance goal at an
Abbie Tollefson goal at 12:34 of the third period. Stevens Point gambled and pulled its goaltender with about 5 1/2 minutes remaining, and the Green Knights added empty-net goals by
Erin Huerta at 14:37 and Tollefson at 17:28.
Tollefson had an assist and Huerta had two helpers with each posting three-point games.
St. Norbert outshot Stevens Point 37-23.
Brynn Waisman made 23 saves to post the shutout for St. Norbert. Olivia Schultz turned away 32 shots for the Pointers.
The Green Knights were 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Pointers were 0-for-4.
