APPLETON - St. Norbert College finished off a decisive sweep of Lawrence University in a home-and-home Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series with a 10-0 blitzing of the Vikings at Appleton Family Ice Center.
The Green Knights dominated from start to finish, outshooting Lawrence 55-7. St. Norbert sophomore forward
Natalie Hogan set a school record with six points, pumping in two goals along with four assists. The game marked the first time St. Norbert hit double digits in goals since a 10-1 win over Finlandia University on Jan. 17, 2015.
St. Norbert held a modest 2-0 lead after the first period following goals by
Morgan Olson just 25 seconds into the game and a power-play marker by
Kelsey Ross at 6:35.
The Green Knights' lead ruptured during a four-goal second period. Hogan added another power-play goal at 4:24, while
Bailey Brunnhoelzl added still another power-play marker at 8:18. Olson scored again at 15:46, while
Margaret Wohlleber scored four seconds later for a 6-0 lead.
St. Norbert added four goals in he third period, during which it outshot Lawrence 24-1.
Alexa Morrow had an unassisted goal at 3:51, while Hogan added another power-play goal at 9:29. Ross scored her second goal of the game at 14:29, while Wohlleber added her second goal of the day at 15:19.
In addition to Hogan scoring two goals and four assists for six points, Ross had two goals and three assists for five points. Olson totaled two goals and two assists for four points.
Maddux Federici posted three assists for three points. Wohlleber had two goals for two points, while Brunnhoelzl had one goal and one assist for two points.
St. Norbert was 4-for-6 on the power play, matching the school record for power-play goals in a game with four, set on Feb. 7, 2014, at Adrian College. The Vikings were 0-for-3 on the power play.
Brynn Waisman made seven saves for St. Norbert. Sydney Seeley made 25 saves in 40 minutes for Lawrence, while Maeve Tallman had 20 stops in the third period.
