DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened its Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series against Finlandia University with a 6-0 win at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (5-1-2, 3-0 NCHA) outshot the Lions by a 58-3 margin, yielding just one shot to Finlandia in each of the three periods.
St. Norbert led 1-0 after one period, with
Ava Jaschke converting a power-play goal at 13:34. The Green Knights scored twice in the second 20 minutes of action, with
Natalie Hogan scoring her fifth goal of the season 40 seconds into the stanza, and
Lexi Bonfe adding a goal at 14:33.
The Green Knights pulled away with three third-period goals.
Naomi Balon registered her first collegiate marker at 4:48. Bonfe registered her fifth goal of the year at 14:12, and
Eve Parker scored at 18:31.
Parker led St. Norbert offensively with four points, adding three assists to her goal. Bonfe had two goals for two points, while
Jordan Moore totaled to assists for a two-point game.
Ashley Ommen made all three saves to get the shutout for St. Norbert. Laney Pasemko turned away 52 shots for Finlandia.
