DE PERE - St. Norbert College gave up a late goal and dropped a 3-2 decision to Hamline University to split a two-game non-conference series at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights had 1:13 of 5-on-3 power play and came up empty in a 2-2 game. Eleven seconds after the power plays expired, Hamline's Nikki Olund got behind the St. Norbert defense and scored at 17:58 for a 3-2 Pipers lead. St. Norbert had 1:27 of extra-attacker time but did not score.
St. Norbert got on the board early when
Maddux Federici posted a power-play goal at 6:37 of the first period. That goal would hold up into first intermission.
Hamline tied the game at 8:37 of the second period on an unassisted Sydney Lemke goal. Olund then added a power-play goal at 16:53 for a 2-1 lead through two periods.
Natalie Hogan scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 5:12 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2. St. Norbert had heavy pressure in the third period, outshooting the Pipers 13-3 in the final 20 minutes, but didn't score again.
St. Norbert outshot Hamline 24-23.
Ashley Ommen made 20 saves for the Green Knights, while Airika Penney made 22 stops for Hamline.
Both teams were 1-for-5 on the power play.
