DE PERE - St. Norbert College shot 56.1 percent from the floor and eventually wore down Dominican University en route to a 77-60 win in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (12-5, 8-2 NACC) canned 32 of 57 field-goal attempts, including 17 of 28 (60.7 percent) in the second half.
St. Norbert never trailed, building an 18-9 lead just over eight minutes into the game on a
Jack Pettit layup. The Green Knights kept a single-digit lead throughout the first half, with
Parker Lawrence's 3-pointer with 1:26 to go in the period giving St. Norbert a 33-25 halftime lead.
Dominican would rally in the second half, getting to within four points at 40-36 on a Chris Daniels 3-pointer with 15:08 remaining. The Green Knights promptly responded with a 3-pointer from Lawrence and a
Carson Talbert layup for a nine-point lead at 45-36. A pair of
Kyle Krueger free throws with 9:33 to go put St. Norbert ahead 53-40, its largest lead of the game to that point. The Green Knights never led by less than 11 points the rest of the way.
Jacob Bolwerk led St. Norbert with 16 points, while
Michael Payant added 11 points. Talbert and
Evan Glaser had 10 points apiece. The Green Knights outrebounded the stars 37-30.
Dominican shot 39.3 percent (22-for-56) from the floor. Jacob Riedl led the Stars with 18 points, while Daniels and Jackson Smith had 12 points apiece.
