DE PERE - St. Norbert College used a decisive run late in the first half to surge past Milwaukee School of Engineering by a 72-57 count in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (11-5, 7-2 NACC) moved back into first place halfway through the conference schedule, now tied with idle Wisconsin Lutheran College, after Edgewood College (5-2) fell 95-75 at Aurora University.
St. Norbert trailed 21-20 with 5:30 left in the first half before a quick 10-0 run fueled by a
Ben Jelacic layup, a
Jacob Bolwerk 3-pointer, a conventional three-point play from
Michael Payant and a
Carson Talbert jumper for a 30-21 lead with 3:54 left. The Raiders' Joey Immekus canned a 3-pointer at the 3:33 mark, but St. Norbert then closed out the half on a 15-3 run to take a 45-27 lead into halftime, capping an overall 25-6 run. Bolwerk had eight points during the run, including a pair of treys, and
Evan Glaser had five points, including a conventional three-point play just before the break.
MSOE (5-11, 1-8) trimmed an 18-point second-half deficit down to seven points twice, the latest coming at 60-53 with 7:25 left. The Green Knights then held the Raiders scoreless for the next 6:27, with the lead rupturing to 72-53 thanks to a 12-0 St. Norbert run.

St. Norbert shot 49.1 percent from the floor, making 27 of 55 field-goal attempts. Bolwerk led the Green Knights with 18 points, and canned 4 of 6 three-point field-goal attempts. Payant came off the bench to add 14 points, while Talbert added 12 points. The Green Knights held a slim 34-33 rebounding advantage.
MSOE shot 38.3 percent from the floor, making 23 of 60 field-goal attempts. The Raiders hoisted a whopping 34 three-point field-goal attempts, making just nine for a 26.5 percent success rate. Immekus and Michael Pitrof led MSOE with 12 points apiece.
