
DE PERE - St. Norbert College gave up a goal to Concordia University Chicago with four seconds left and had to settle for a 2-2 double-overtime tie in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Cougars converted when a free kick after a foul was played to directly in front of the goalmouth. After a brief scramble, Concordia's Julianna Paulsen converted at 89:56 to force overtime.
Neither team could generate much offense in the two overtime sessions, with St. Norbert getting two shots to Concordia's one.
St. Norbert scored on a
Grace Taylor breakaway after a feed from
Katelyn Kane at 11:18. The Cougars answered moments later when Allie Brown scored on a high shot from 25 yards out at 12:40. St. Norbert would take a 2-1 lead into halftime after
Abby Thompson scored her fifth goal of the season by finishing a loose ball at 27:15. That goal would hold up until the final moments of regulation time.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 16-8, including 11-2 in the first half. Each team had four corner kicks, while St. Norbert committed 18 fouls to Concordia's 11.
Lilly Collins made three saves for St. Norbert, while Kassie Silenzi had seven stops for the Cougars.
