
DE PERE - St. Norbert College got three unanswered second-half goals to pull away from Marian University and gain a 4-1 win in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (4-3, 3-0 NACC), who won for the fourth time in their last five games, got three goals in just over 17 minutes to break a 1-1 tie.
Marian scored first when Ashley Welk scored into an open goal at the 30:22 mark. The Green Knights were able to get back to even at 41 minutes, when
Abby Thompson scored her fourth goal of the seaosn when her strike found the upper-left corner.
The Green Knights took the lead at 53:02 when
Mallory Names scored from about 15 yards out into the top-right corner.
Emily Names then gave St. Norbert a two-goal cushion when she scored to the far post at 69:22. St. Norbert put the match away at 70:16 when
Kait Schweitzer's 35-yard blast found the back of cage, with
Kelly Fischer assisting.
St. Norbert outshot Marian 31-6 and had a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. The Sabres had a 6-3 edge in fouls.
Lilly Collins made two saves for the Green Knights, while Amy Birner made 15 stops for Marian.
