
FOND DU LAC - St. Norbert College jumped out to an early lead and went on to a 3-1 win over Marian University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Smith Field.
The Green Knights (4-3-1, 3-0 NACC) got on the board when
Mitchell Scholz scored his fourth goal of the season, with the score off a
Caden Etzel assist when he finished at the right post at the 23:58 mark. St. Norbert doubled its advantage when
Drake Vandermause also scored his fourth goal of the year when he finished a rebound at 26:04, with
Lucas Rojas assisting.
St. Norbert effectively put the game out of reach when Rojas scored unassisted for his first goal of the year at 62:25. Marian closed out the scoring with a goal from Max Kauffman at 65:42.
The Green Knights held possession for much of the match, outshooting Marian 27-5. St. Norbert also had a 6-1 edge in corner kicks and a 10-8 gap in fouls.
Nate Jocz earned the win in goal with a complete-game effort for the Green Knights, facing one shot. Aden Jerome turned away six shots for the Sabres.
