
AURORA, Ill - St. Norbert College scored three goals in less than 15 minutes near the end of the first half and pulled away to claim a 5-2 win over Aurora University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Spartan Stadium.
The Green Knights trailed 1-0 after Aurora's Mikayla Spiering scored at the 22:02 mark, but St. Norbert quickly answered when
Amelia Carlson scored an unassisted marker at 24:38 to knot the game 1-1.
Emily Gorzlancyk put St. Norbert ahead with an unasssted goal at 31:12, and Carlson then notched her second goal of the half off a feed from
Katelyn Kane at 38:14 for a 3-1 lead going into halftime.
The two-goal lead would hold up until Aurora's Madison Hougan scored at 83:34, but the Green Knights would salt the game away when
Abby Thompson scored her third goal of the season at 85:04 and
Hanna Lech her fourth goal of the year at 87:01. Both goals were unassisted.
St. Norbert outshot Aurora 18-6, including 8-1 in the second half. Aurora held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks and 10-7 in fouls.
