
AURORA, Ill. - St. Norbert College got a penalty-kick conversion from
Drake Vandermause and the goal held up as the Green Knights claimed a big 1-0 win over Aurora University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Spartan Stadium.
The Green Knights (3-3-1, 2-0 NACC) and Spartans (2-3-1, 0-2 NACC) battled without a goal until Vandermause cashed in a penalty-kick opportunity at the 37:59 mark. It is the third goal of the season for Vandermause, all coming on penalty kicks.
Both teams played an even second half but the St. Norbert defense kept Aurora from finding the cage. Both teams had four shots in the second half.
Shots were even at 9-9 and the Spartans held an 8-7 edge in corner kicks. St. Norbert had an 11-7 edge in fouls.
Daniel Yurk made three saves to get the clean sheet for the Green Knights, while Jalen Depenbrock made three stops between the posts for Aurora.
