
DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened at home on the earliest date in school history as the Green Knights hosted UW-Oshkosh in a non-conference doubleheader at Miron Construction Field at Mel Nicks Sports Complex. The Titans swept St. Norbert 4-0 and 8-0.
The twinbill marked the first time any St. Norbert team played an outdoor home game during astronomical winter.
In the opener, Oshkosh scored once in the second inning, twice in the fifth inning and once in the seventh inning. St. Norbert had three strong solid scoring chances, but left the bases loaded in the fourth inning and two on in the sixth and seventh inning.
Abby Primus led St. Norbert, going 2-for-4 with a double.
Ellie Olsen took the loss, allowing nine hits with two walks and two strikeouts in five innings pitched.
In the nightcap, Oshkosh scored four unearned runs in the third inning and two more unearned tallies in the fourth inning before scoring twice more in the seventh inning. St. Norbert had five hits.
Emma Wiese took the loss, allowing no earned runs on five hits in three innings pitched.
Morgyn Zielke finished up by allowing two earned runs on five hits in four innings pitched, registering a pair of strikeouts.
