DE PERE - St. Norbert College's top line of
Peter Bates,
Peyton Frantti and
Liam Fraser made sure the dedication of
Tim Coghlin Rink was victorious, with the trio accounting for four goals in the Green Knights' 7-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin at Cornerstone Community Center.
With the rink the Green Knights have skated on since the building opened in 2000 being named for their five-time national championship coach, St. Norbert (8-3, 5-0 NCHA) extended its winning streak to seven.
Concordia would take an early lead when Jay Powell's shot from inside the blue line was true at the 3:03 mark. St. Norbert was able to take the lead with a pair of goals from Bates, with Frantti and Fraser assisting on both at 10:48 and 19:28.
St. Norbert pushed ahead 3-1 on
Michael McChesney's fourth goal of the season, coming at 8:28 of the second period. Bates scored again - good for his ninth of the year - off helpers from Frantti and Fraser at 13:11 for a 4-1 lead after two periods.
The Green Knights pulled away in the third period, with
Brock Baker scoring his seventh of the season at 4:40. Frantti scored a power-play goal at 6:15 for his fifth goal of the year, while Fraser finished his eighth goal of the season at 8:37.
Bates had three goals and one assist for four points, while Frantti and Fraser each had one goal and three assists for four points. In the last five games, Bates has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points, Fraser has five goals and eight assists for 13 points, and Frantti has four goals and nine assists for 13 points.
Carter Hottmann and
Michael Spethmann each added two assists for two points.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 41-22, with
Johnny Roberts registering 21 saves for the Green Knights.
The Green Knights were 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Falcons were 0-for-2.
