ASHLAND - St. Norbert College won its third-straight game - all via shutout - with a 4-0 victory over Northland College in a non-conference game at Bay Area Civic Center.
St. Norbert (3-1) matched its record streak of three consecutive shutouts, originally set Nov. 22-Dec. 3, 2016. The current stretch marks the first time the Green Knights have won three consecutive games by shutout, as one game in the original streak was a scoreless tie.
Evi Johnson recorded her first shutout of the season with a 16-save performance.
The Green Knights wasted little time taking control of the game, scoring three times in the first 2 minutes 24 seconds.
Morgan Olson scored unassisted just 28 seconds into the game, followed by
Gabby Holtz's goal at 1:10.
McKenna Burggraf then scored at 2:24 for a 3-0 lead.
Neither team would score again until
Alexa Morrow scored at 9:35 of the third period.
Morrow had an assist to post the only multi-point game for the Green Knights.
St. Norbert outshot Northland 42-16. The Green Knights were 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Lumberjills were 0-for-5.
Teagen Johnson made 35 saves for Northland.
