HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with a 3-1 win over Finlandia University at Houghton County Arena.
The Green Knights, now 7-2 overall and off to their best start in program history, are 4-0 in the NCHA. St. Norbert has won seven of its last eight games, its best stretch since an eight-game winning streak in the 2015-16 season.
St. Norbert was able to take a 1-0 lead when
Morgan Olson scored unassisted at 19:58 of the first period. Finlandia answered when India Charles scored at 7:21 of the second period, with the 1-1 score holding up into second intermission.
The Green Knights would retake control when
Natalie Hogan scored unassisted at 1:40 of the third period for her third marker of the year. Olson would then post her NCHA-leading 12th goal of the season with an unassisted tally at 4:31.
St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 35-14, including 22-8 in the final two periods. The Green Knigths were 0-for-8 on the power play, while the Lions were 0-for-6.
Evi Johnson made 13 saves for the Green Knights, while Laney Pasemko turned away 32 shots for the Lions.
