DE PERE - St. Norbert College topped Lawrence University behind a five-goal barrage in the second period en route to a 7-1 victory in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights improved to 4-2 overall with the win, marking the first time in program history they have won four of their first six games to open a season.
After a scoreless first period, Lawrence converted a rare 4-on-3 power-play goal opportunity to take the lead on the score by Maggie MacNeil 57 seconds into the second period. The Green Knights responded quickly, with
Eve Parker cashing in a power-play goal at 3:23.
Morgan Olson followed with the eventual game-winning goal at 5:36.
Natalie Hogan followed with a power-play goal of her own at 10:40. Olson scored again at 15:46, while
Jordan Moore closed out the uprising with a goal at 16:17 for a 5-1 lead heading into second intermission.
St. Norbert got a pair of third-period markers.
Ava Jaschke scored at 2:50, and Olson recorded the hat trick with an unassisted goal at 12:12. Olson now has seven goals on the season to lead the NCHA.
Olson finished with three point off her three goals, while Moore and Parker each added an assist for two-point games.
Kelsey Ross had two assists for a multi-point outing.
St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 47-10.
Evi Johnson made nine saves for the Green Knights, while Sydney Seeley made 29 stops for Lawrence in the first two periods and Charlie Prior made 11 saves in the third period.
St. Norbert was 2-for-6 on the power play, while Lawrence was 1-for-3.
