
DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained unblemished in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference by hanging on to top Illinois Institute of Technology 2-1 at Schneider Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, St. Norbert (8-4-1, 7-0 NACC) took the lead when
Joe Meade finished off a nice passing combination with a finish at 49:14 for his fourth goal of the season.
Mitchell Scholz and
Max Censky set up the play with assists. The Scarlet Hawks answered immediately, scoring just 23 seconds later when Michael Kaczowska finished off a serve to the far post to knot the score at 1-1.
St. Norbert was able to break through at 65:24, when
Matthew Wright's header off
Willem van den Akker's corner kick was true for his third goal of the year. The Green Knights were able to keep the Scarlet Hawks off the scoresheet the rest of the way.
The Green Knights outshot Illinois Tech 15-3 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. The Scarlet Hawks had 17 fouls to the Green Knights' 10.
Daniel Yurk picked up the win in goal for St. Norbert, while Adam Falcingo mad six stops for Illinois Tech.
