
MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College opened a critical stretch of games with a 2-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Milwaukee School of Engineering's Viets Field.
The Green Knights (9-4-1, 8-0 NACC) played the first game of a four-game leg over the next seven days. St. Norbert holds a five-point lead in the conference standings with 12 points left in play.
St. Norbert, now 8-1 in its last nine games, scored midway through the first half to take an early lead.

Mitchell Scholz, who found the cage in the 27th minute from about 12 yards out for his sixth goal of the season. The Green Knights would take a 1-0 lead into halftime despite outshooting the Warriors 15-3 in the first 45 minutes.
The Green Knights got some breathing room when
Tomas Pazos scored for the third time in 2021 when he took a feed from
Joe Meade and connected from about 11 yards out in the 57th minute.
St. Norbert outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 23-4 for the match, with the Warriors getting two corner kicks to the Green Knights' one. St. Norbert had an 11-8 edge in fouls.
Daniel Yurk (68 minutes) and
Nate Jocz (22 minutes) combined for the shutout, with Yurk stopping the only shot he faced. Wisconsin Lutheran's Bryce Beckley made seven saves.
