
LOVES PARK, Ill. - St. Norbert College remained unblemished in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference after battling to a 1-0 win over Rockford University at Wedgbury Stadium.
The victory gave the Green Knights a berth in the six-team NACC Tournament.
St. Norbert had the better run of play in the first half, outshooting the Regents 8-1, but found itself locked in a scoreless match at halftime. The Green Knights would get the game's lone goal when
Mitchell Scholz scored for the seventh time this season when he tapped the ball in past the goalkeeper off the post.
The Green Knights had to work from there, as a red card in the 58th minute left them a man short for the final 32 minutes of action. Rockford would outshoot St. Norbert 6-4 in the second half, but could not get the equalizer.
St. Norbert outshot Rockford 12-7 for the match and also had eight corner kicks to the Regents' two. Rockford had 12 fouls to St. Norbert's eight.
Daniel Yurk made three saves to earn the shutout between the posts for the Green Knights. Jonathan Rosales made four saves for Rockford.
