DE PERE - St. Norbert College wrapped up its regular season with a 1-0 loss to Benedictine University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights, who clinched the NACC regular-season championship and No. 1 seeding for the NACC Tournament on Wednesday, rested their entire starting lineup after a demanding four-game stretch over seven days last week. St. Norbert will host a NACC Tournament semifinal game at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Schneider Stadium.
St. Norbert and Benedictine battled to a scoreless first half. The Eagles then scored in the 57th minute when Hayden Van Son's header trickled over the goal line. The Green Knights had a couple of moderately good scoring chances late but couldn't convert.
Benedictine outshot St. Norbert 9-5 and had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Fouls were even at 14 per side.
Nate Jocz made three saves for the Green Knights, while Chris Rubio made three stops for the Eagles.
