DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't overcome a quick four-touchdown spurt by Aurora University and dropped a 25-7 decision in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game on Homecoming at Schneider Stadium.
The Spartans scored four touchdowns in five possessions in the first half, with two coming off short fields, to take control.
Aurora opened the scoring after Gavin Zimbelman completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Brock Harner with 4:55 left in the first quarter, just two plays after the Spartans converted a fourth-and-13 situation. The Green Knights then punted after three plays and the punt was blocked, with Aurora taking over at the St. Norbert 10. The Spartans needed just two plays to cash in, getting a 2-yard run from Tyran Bailey with 2:13 left for a 13-0 lead.
Aurora took a three-touchdown lead with 5:51 left in the second quarter after Zimbelman found Colton Jewell for a 13-yard touchdown. St. Norbert was intercepted on its next play from scrimmage and Jhequay Chretin scampered for a 17-yard touchdown with 5:33 to go before halftime for a 25-0 lead. The Spartans would take that lead into halftime.

Jake Berken gathered in an interception at the Aurora 26-yard line. The Green Knights took nine plays to score, cashing in on fourth-and-goal on a 1-yard quarterback sneak from
Ben Kohl with 2:39 left in the quarter. Neither team would score in the fourth quarter.
Aurora outgained St. Norbert 289-214 in total offense. Kohl competed 13 of 36 passes for 131 yards and led the Green Knights in rushing with 28 yards on 20 carries.
Parker Lawrence caught four passes for 86 yards.
Chretin led Aurora on the ground with 119 yards on 19 carries and one touchdown. Zimbelman completed 13 of 26 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns and was sacked four times.
Maccabee barrett led St. Norbert with 12 tackles, while
Kevin Pedersen had 10 stops. Berken had five tackles with two sacks and one interception.
