Green Knights Tumble in Five Sets to Benedictine

DE PERE - St. Norbert College tried to rally from a two-set deficit but ultimately fell 3-2 to Benedictine University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.

The Green Knights (16-13, 7-4 NACC) lost to the Eagles 25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 19-25, 15-12.

St. Norbert hit .204 for the match, getting 68 kills with 31 errors in 181 attempts. Grace Baumann piled up 26 kills, while Brooke Clement added 20 kills. Devon Nardoni added 51 assists. Baumann added two service aces, but 16 service errors by the Green Knights stopped several chances at gaining momentum.

Baumann finished with 21 digs, while Liz Maastricht added 19 and Alyssa Mills 13. Linnea Svennes had five blocks, while Clement had three and Mills two.

Benedictine hit .169 for the match, with 44 kills against 18 errors in 154 attempts. Kaitlyn Estopare led the Eagles with 13 kills.
