
LOVES PARK, Ill. - St. Norbert College scored four goals in each half en route to an easy 8-0 win over Rockford College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Wedgbury Stadium.
The eight goals is the most for St. Norbert in a match since an 8-0 win over Lawrence University on Oct. 4, 2017.
The Green Knights (7-7-1, 6-3-1 NACC) wasted little time in getting the lead when
Kait Schweitzer scored off a pass from
Lizzie Guerin just 5 minutes 51 seconds into the match for Schweitzer's fifth goal of the season.
Anja Jacobsen scored at 12:54 for her first goal of the season, finishing a one-on-the-goalkeeper after getting an assist from
Mallory Names.
Abby Thompson then doubled St. Norbert's lead with a pair of goals just 81 seconds apart. Thompson took a pass from
Emily Names to score at 27:17, and then got a helper from
Mallory Names to score her seventh goal of the season at 28:38.
St. Norbert continued to break the game open with two goals 30 seconds apart early in the second half. Guerin scored off a Jacobsen assist at 48:57, followed by a Jacobsen unassisted goal at 49:27.
Emily Names then registered her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Jacobsen at 57:22.
Baleigh Pajerski closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 83:19.
Jacobsen finished with two goals and two assists for six points, while Thompson's two goals were good for four points.
Emily Names had one goal and one assist for three points.
The Green Knights outshot the Regents 27-3 and also had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. Rockford had nine fouls to St. Norbert's six.
Lilly Collins had three saves for St. Norbert to post her second shutout of the season. Elizabeth Elison made eight stops for Rockford.
