
MEQUON - St. Norbert College was held scoreless in the second half en route to a 24-14 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Tomasini Stadium.
The Green Knights (2-4, 1-3 NACC) held a 14-3 halftime lead before Concordia (6-1, 4-1) answered with 21 straight points to rally for the win.
St. Norbert took an early lead when it traveled 47 yards over 11 plays to score on an 8-yard touchdown pass from
Ben Kohl to
David Lox with 14 seconds left in the first quarter for a 7-0 advantage.
Concordia answered on its next possession with a 37-yard field goal from Andre Casas to cut the deficit to 7-3, but St. Norbert responded with a 10-play, 65-yard drive capped by an 18-yard touchdown pass from Kohl to
Parker Lawrence for a 14-3 edge with 6:14 left before halftime. The Green Knights would carry that lead into halftime.
St. Norbert punted after eight plays to open the second half, with Concordia taking over on its own 20-yard line. The Falcons moved 80 yards over 17 plays to score on a 6-yard run by Pierre Summers with 3:52 left in the third quarter. The Falcons then successfully onside kicked and reached the St. Norbert 4-yard line before Casas missed a 21-yard field goal. St. Norbert punted from deep in its own end, and Concordia converted on the next drive, going 59 yards in nine plays to score on a 1-yard run by Summers with 10:20 left for a 17-14 lead.
The Green Knights then moved to have a first down at the Concordia 14, but was intercepted on third down. Concordia then scored an insurance touchdown on a James Linn 48-yard run with 3:28 left.
Concordia outgained St. Norbert 364-244 in total offense, and had 221 yards rushing to the Green Knights' 154.
John Trinh was St. Norbert's leading rusher with 74 yards on 20 carries. Kohl completed 8 of 13 passes for 90 yards with two touchdowns. Lox caught four passes for 29 yards and one touchdown.
Summers led Concordia on the ground with 121 rushing yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. Linn completed 13 of 24 passes for 143 yards and also rushed 14 times for 67 yards.
Maccabee Barrett led St. Norbert with 13 tackles, while
Kevin Pedersen and
Jaren Yoder added eight stops apiece.
