St. Norbert College

Dan Lukes is in his 27th year at St. Norbert College in 2025-26. Lukes became assistant athletics director for athletics communications in March 2017 after holding the title of Sports Information Director since starting at St. Norbert in July 1999.

A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), St. Norbert has produced 45 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans during his tenure. Lukes’ 2000-2001, 2004-2005 and 2008-09 hockey media guides were judged Best in the Nation in Division B/C, while his 1999-2000 and 2002-03 hockey media guides was judged as having the best cover nationally in Division B/C.

He served on the NCAA Division III Baseball Central Region Advisory Committee from 2015-17, and he was also a member of the Midwest Conference Championships Committee from 2000 to 2005. Lukes was the interim chair of the league’s sports information directors during the 2006-07 school year.

Lukes arrived at St. Norbert College after a six-month stint in 1999 as a sports reporter at the Marquette Mining Journal in Marquette, Mich., the largest newspaper in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Lukes, an Algoma native, received a B.S. in journalism with a minor in political science in 1998 from UW-Oshkosh. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree from St. Norbert College in May 2021.
