Career: Two Varsity letters

2025: Saw time in 59 sets over 19 matches tallying 86 digs, 12 assists, and 2 service aces. Dug a season and career-best 10 saves vs. Virginia Wesleyan on 1/25. 

2024: In 22 sets played compiled 17 digs and 3 aces. Collected a season and career-best 6 digs at MSOE on March 26. Winner of the 2024 Norby Award for Outstanding Male Freshman Athlete for his efforts in the pool with the St. Norbert swim team.

Before SNC: Competed in the junior volleyball ranks with One Wisconsin and Wisconsin Flight volleyball clubs. Lettered four times in swimming, three times in football, and three times in track during high school. Was a three-time WIAA state championship qualifier in swimming.

Personal: Intended major is Business Administration. Son of Nicole and Keith Hanse. Has one sister, May, who plays volleyball at UW-Stevens Point. Also competes for the St. Norbert men’s swim team. Birthdate is May 16.

“Zach is someone that all college athletes can model and learn from in important ways. His ability to manage time, compete at a high level for multiple teams, and excel in the classroom is exemplary. He will literally run through a wall to keep a point alive, as evidenced by the teeth marks in the Campus Center Gym south wall. With his first season of college volleyball under his belt I fully anticipate that he will continue to push the defender position group in a positive direction and certainly compete for more time in the libero position."
