Career: One varsity letter.

2020: Split time between libero and DS position during the team’s inaugural season. Recorded double-digit digs in three matches with a high of 12 against Millikin. Averaged 1.35 digs per set on the year across 57 sets played.

Before SNC: Was a two-year volleyball letter-winner at Lake Park High School, highlighted by a third-place finish in the 2017 Illinois High Sschool Association state tournament. Was a member of Pipeline Volleyball Club for one season. Also lettered in soccer during high school, earning all-conference honors. Credits coach Barbara Ebert at Marmion Academy as an important part of his volleyball journey.

Personal: Majoring in accounting with plans of working in the tax or audit accounting field. Son of Matthew and Kristen Hatfield. Has three siblings; Nolan, Miles, and Elise. Birthdate is Jan. 28, 2000.

“I first got to know Brent as a part-time practice player with our women’s team prior to the inception of the men’s program. As a freshman he was eager for the start of our new team and willing to put work in ahead of time, which was terrific. As a defender he sees things develop early and uses his volleyball IQ to make solid reads. Brent is a tough competitor that has helped to stabilize our defense and serve receive corps and promises to be solid defender as the program expands.”
