Career: Three Varsity letters

2024: Second-team All-NACC selection. In move to libero, had a standout season in 2024. Over 103 sets played recorded 398 digs and 97 assists. Posted double-digit dig totals 24 times including a season and career-best 24 vs. Aurora on 10/26.

2023: Appeared in 76 sets over 28 matches on the season. Compiled 105 digs including a season-best 15 vs. Aurora in the NACC semifinal match.

2022: Saw action in 99 sets during freshman campaign. Collected 164 digs and 27 assists on the year. Posted a season-best 21 digs vs. Alverno College on 10/4.

Before SNC: One of the most decorated student athletes in Three Lakes High School history. Four-year letter winner in volleyball where she was named first team All-Northern Lakes Conference three times from 2019-2021. In addition, she was selected Division IV WVCA All-State honorable mention in 2020 and a first team selection in 2021. Sowinski also lettered four times in both basketball and track & field along with one letter in soccer. On the hardwood she garnered three All-Northern Lake Conference awards as well as being named Conference offensive player of the year and Division V All-State honorable mention in 2022. Her team finished as the WIAA state runner-up in Division V in 2021. On the track she was a first-team All-Northern Lakes Conference selection in 2019, 2021, and 2022. She qualified for the state meet on four separate occasions highlighted by a 4x100 relay championship in 2019. Played club volleyball for NW Starts VBC.

Personal: Intended double major in Business Administration and Communications. Daughter of Paul and Tunie Sowinski. Has three siblings: Lauren, Maddie, and Brad. Birthdate is Jan. 26.

"As the team's primary Libero in 2024, Kara continued to impress with her skill as a defender and became an incredibly reliable serve receiver. Being honored as a second team All-NACC award winner, others in the league took notice as well. We have been blessed over the years to have amazing defenders and are thrilled to see what she and her teammates can do for the squad again this year. Her presence off the court has grown significantly as well being elected a team captain for 2025."
