DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened its 2026 football season with a 40-10 loss to Carroll University in a non-conference game at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights got on the board first when a drive inside the Carroll 20 stalled and Tyler Juergensen connected on a 35-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead with 1:53 left in the first quarter. Carroll answered when Anthony Martano popped a 76-yard run on third-and-1 for a 7-3 Pioneers' lead with 56 seconds left in the first quarter.

Carroll had a pair of second-quarter field goals sandwiched around a 68-yard touchdown pass from Elisah Nieves to Marcus Johnson to take a 20-3 lead into halftime.

The Pioneers used big plays to score a pair of third-quarter touchdowns and then had a special-teams touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The Green Knights closed out the scoring on Alex Jayne's 6-yard touchdown run with 4:14 remaining.
