DE PERE – St. Norbert College earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College thanks to a late goal in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (3-5-1, 2-1 NACC) were even with the Warriors until Lexi Fredenhagen (pictured) capitalized on a loose ball with less than ten minutes remaining.
It was a busy night for sophomore goalkeeper Leah Hess, who made several important saves late in the second half before the Green Knights took the lead, including a double save.
The Green Knights nearly took a one-goal lead into halftime, with Gracie Adrian's shot being saved following a corner. Shelby Busch also troubled Wisconsin Lutheran's Sam Schroeder, nearly converting a shot from 30 yards away. A cross from Busch led Fredenhagen slotting away her goal following a loose ball from Schroeder's grasp.
The Green Knights were outshot 11-10. Schroeder made four saves for the Warriors. Hess kept her fourth clean sheet for the Green Knights.
