HOUGHTON, Mich. - St. Norbert College continued its start to the season on the road with weekend series at Michigan Tech University, with the Green Knights dropping the opening game 3-1 before earning a 3-3 tie and a shootout victory over the Huskies in a non-conference series at John MacInnes Ice Center.  

The Green Knights (0-3-1) trailed 2-1 late in the third period of the opening game, with Chaz DelMarcelle scoring off a Brendan Melzacki helper. Michigan Tech added the third and deciding goal on an empty net in the final two minutes.  

Anders Smith (pictured) recorded over 30 saves in the loss.  

In the second game, Melzacki scored twice while Jake Kunz added another in a 3-3 tie. Melzacki opened the scoring in the shootout while Patrick Boyle made three stops. Kunz scored St. Norbert's final attempt before sudden death, with Boyle once again making a save as the Green Knights won 2-1 in the shootout.  

The Green Knights will host their home opener this Saturday against UW-Oshkosh at Cornerstone Community Center.
