DE PERE – The St. Norbert College men's basketball program is saddened by the passing of assistant coach Brain Roehrig on March 6 after a brief illness.   

"Brian was one of the most loyal coaches I knew," St. Norbert men's basketball coach Gary Grzesk said. "He would do anything for our athletes in the program; from rebounding for guys after practice to making sure their pre-game and post-game meals were correct. His presence will be greatly missed at St. Norbert as a coach and friend." 

Roehrig, a UW-Green Bay graduate, joined the St. Norbert coaching staff in the 2003-04 season under Paul DeNoble and continued under Grzesk starting in 2006.   

He is survived by his mother, Rita, and his brothers, Paul and Steve.   

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 28 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein.
